JUCO BASKETBALL

From the Houston Chronicle, I read an article on JUCO sports in TX. Although the article is mostly on hoops rather than pure recruiting-- the subject was something brought up by Stallion recently on another thread. In the article, there was a line or two discussing the issues of "Prep schools' competing for the traditional JUCO prospect:
"... The other major reason for the shift has been the increase of high school players who choose private prep schools over junior colleges. It is an option that allows top high school athletes to hone their skills on the court while improving their grades without losing a year of college eligibility..."
It appears the player leaves "Prep" with the 5 Yr to play 4 intact (v. JUCO).
