related to the great Raymond Mapps perhaps? Saw this tidbit on a high school message board. A poster stated SMU had offered. Mapps is a RB turned QB this year. All he did was lead Royce City to the Class 3A Semifinals before losing to Abilene Wylie. Get these numbers-2488 yards RUSHING from his QB position and 802 yards passing for 30 TDs. Texas Football says he is 5-9, 170.

He's supposed to take an official visit in January, I believe.
Would it be safe to assume we're recruiting him as a RB?

I hope he is related to Raymond and that we get him. Raymond was a delight as a teammate. An undersized, hard worker who made good. A true leader and inspiration to those who played with him. If related, this is a legacy we would like to continue.

Or maybe a slot receiver? Any idea what kind of speed this guy has?

plenty of speed and durablity for a small back. tough as nails. i saw him up close and personal run for 325 and pass for 150 in one ballgame this year. i am sure he has flown under the radar because of his size and royse city has not been a football powerhouse until this year. he would be some of the speed we need at a multitude of positions.

Forgive the ignorance here, but was Raymond Mapps a Mustang?
This guy is said to be an amazing athlete.

Raymond was a receiver in the late 60's early 70's. A small but quick Hixson target. An overacheiver.

Interesting - getting honored for a position OTHER than the one he played!
