WOW, talk about loading up.

I bet everyone of those guys will graduate and help the UTEP Miners kick some @ss next year.

yeah I saw that and I'm not sure its true but their athletic site listed about 3-5 BCS schools(including numerous Top 20 teams) recruiting most of those kids. Most all of them are from the California JCs. Also remember that list doesn't include the 4-5 BCS Division 1A transfers who will be eligible this year including two Parade All-American running backs.

I noticed that west coast connection that Price seems to have going, too. I still say that if SMU can get it's act together, UTEP has the makings of a nice rival in CUSA and maybe we can finally get that California vs Texas thing going that they talked about happening in the WAC

We get 2 JUCOs and UTEP gets half a team. UTEP also has several Division 1-A tranfers as well. The same goes for Tulsa. These facts still show how far behind SMU is when compared to our conference foes. Until SMU implements an 'athletic friendly' major and easily accepts and allows other schools credits to transfer, SMU will always be a step behind. Meanwhile, I hear Coach Bennett is currently in some fierce recruiting battles with Stephen F. Austin and Prarie View A&M. Good luck Coach!

Rock, you're a twit. That dead horse has been kicked quite enough, thank you. Transfer hours have been dealt with to a large degree and the athletics-friendly major is also being addressed. What more do you want?

The other side of the coin, is that when you load your team up with JUCOs, you constantly have to replace them since they usually come with only a couple of years of eligibility. I don't see UTEP loading up with JUCOs as a step up for them; they're just trying to replace the kids that are graduating so they can try to stay at their current level of competitiveness.
