SMU is still trying to urge Tyler Marrou into taking an official visit, but it appears to be a two college battle for the Corpus Christi (Texas) Calallen lineman. Marrou visited Colorado officially over the December 10th weekend, and he is also expected to visit TCU on January 7th. All indications are that a decision will come shortly thereafter. "Those are my top two schools that I'm going to choose from," said Marrou, who stands 6-foot-5, 245-pounds. More inside.

Is it safe to assume we're officially out of the running with this guy? I keep reading that Colorado and TCU are his top two, and that UTEP is trying to work its way into the race, too.

I gather he's considered something of a project, but only in the sense that he needs to add a lot of size to be a college OL (biggest number I've seen for his weight is 260). But it sure sounds like college coaches are convinced he can be a very good college player.

Tyler: if you don't come to SMU, Colorado is the place for you!

The Frog board seems to be saying he is coming to that ugly yellow place in Ft. Worth.

It is my understanding, he needed to take the "scholly" offered by TCU as he was getting sqeezed out everywhere else. Good luck, Tyler. Glad you are staying in Texas.

Not that you meant it that way, but I don't think that any recruit "staying in Texas" benefits us at all. There is absolutely no reason to root for TCU at all now. On the contrary, any success TCU has only draws recruits away from Dallas. I would rather see a good recruit sign anywhere than to sign with TCU.

May TCU rot in Fort Worth. :x
