so now that Les Miles is off to LSU what are the chances that Chris Hall will decommitt to OSU and come back to SMU... or did it really hurt that Zach is goin somewhere in Arkansas...

I'd say chances are zilch since I've been assured by the "insiders" on this board that SMU pulled its offer to Hall and "decided to go in a different direction"

My assumption would be that if he "decommitted" he would sign with LSU.

I am surprised that the Chase brothers, Lucky DeLay and Bennetts brother could not have a little Irving Tiger Lovefest and fix this thing. Maybe Chris knew his brother was outta here a long time ago.

I imagine his brother played a large role in his commitment/decommintment. For what its worth, Chris is visiting Arkansas next week. Zach is attending Arkansas State, whcih is only about an hour and a half away. Can't really blame someone for wanting to be close to their brother.

I thought it said Zach was attending Arkansas Tech-whatever the hell that is. I'm sure it will look great on a resume! What would you do if your son did some as stupid as leaving SMU to get a degree at Arkansas Tech?

Tech rather than State is probably right. Tech is much closer to Fayettville that State, and State is certainly much more than an hour and a half away.
When I was redshirted at SMU my roommate and I (both Arkies) called one of my former asst coaches at Tech and told him (not quite honestly) we were thinking about transferring. We were able to parlay that into a very enjoyable weekend at Tech. They do have some good partying folks there, but I would have never traded the educational value and name that SMU has in the acadmeic world.

I will never again assume that anyone left on their own because he wanted playing time elsewhere at a I-AA program. It could well be that the coaching staff encouraged Zach Hall to find another home. All I know is that Bennett is filling some LB spots this year. We will find out if they are upgrades and I guess we may never know if Zach could have played at this level.

I had heard Zach was having a tough time picking up the defense. I think that the fact that had the worst linebacking corps in d-1 this year and he still didn't see the field is an indicator of where he stood.

All of the sudden Wardog doesn't appear to be as sold on Oklahoma State and there down home atmosphere as he was. He is now going to visit Texas Tech.

That would be
their down home atmosphere... for what it is worth. (My kingdom for a grammar check.)

You must have be one of the college professors that is more worried about style over substance!

Nope...just an illterate engineer that doesn't understand why SMU grads can't at least proof read their posts before submitting them. It's not an earth shattering event, but after awhile I just have to say something. You might want to re-read your post I've quoted above...although I did grasp your "substance".
BTW, I don't mean to be picking on you, you just happened to have the post that made me want to say something...this time. There are many posters that are just as bad about not proof reading their posts. I guess folks just don't care anymore.
