My source tells me that we got 8 commitments this weekend and are now up to 20 (if Wilson, the running back from Virginia (See below) is counted). Evidentally, we received an oral commitment from a tight-end from Marshall that has not been mentioned. I guess that would be Mario Walker. Texas Football gives him a 2 Star 5.2 rating and says that he is 6'3", 230 lbs, 4.7. The height conflicts with the size listed in Rivals:

Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 220 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.6 seconds
Bench max: 275 pounds
Vertical leap: 29 inches
GPA: 3.4
ACT: 24

Any confirmation of this reported commitment would be appreciated.

I also heard that Wilson still must be approved by the University, which is why he hasn't shown up on the official commit list. My source says that he will go in front of the panel to get approval.

By the way, Walker is listed in Texas Football as a Texas Top 300 recruit.

Rivals is now showing a commitment by Mario Wilson to SMU. He is listed everywhere between 6-3 and 6-0 but at the Nike Camp he measured 6-0, 220. He is a 2 star 5.3 rating. Only other offer Arkansas-Pine Bluff.(Rivals has just updated offer info to include Kansas, UNT, Tennesse St). Nice athlete though-he worked out with the TEs at Nike. He ran a 4.62 40(Ist out of , 21 Benches(2nd out of 9), 4.56 Shuttle(3rd out of 9), 29.6 Vertical(ist out of 10). Has a 3.4 GPA and 24 ACT. 3 year starter. 2nd Team All East Texas. In 2003 caught 59 passes for 689 yards and 2 TDs. In the regular season had 18 catches for 396 yards for 22 yards per catches and 5 TDs. I know he made several more big plays in the playoffs including one game with 2 TD catches. Could be a U-Back or also a LB I think at SMU.
