Rivals says he's committed to UTEP .... although it calls it a "soft" commitment.

He will also double-sign with a JUCO.

ie UTEP is giving him a chance to qualify by August 1 to get eligible. Bet some one will do the same with Hodge. Apparently, Givens has committed to Trinity Valley CC. Wayne McNight is another kid some were after and he also is listed as committed to TVCC.

VERY interesting.
And a welcome addition. Our CBs now include 6'1' Columbus Givens, 6'1 Jonathan Lindley and 6'2" Victor Makinde. All three are big, and all three can run.

He is excited about coming to SMU and wanted to play closer to home where his family can see him play. We promised him a shot a quaterback until he proved he can't play the position. Rivals says that his SAT was 720.

I read somewhere that he was recruited as an "athlete." There might well be an agreement to give him a crack at playing QB, but I get the impression he's gifted enough to play any number of positions. I'm eager to see this guy play!

Does Rivals rate this guy and, if so, how high?

They are still listing Tim Monroe (incorrect), and have yet to list Emmanuel Sanders, other than that, the list is current with all Rivals Rankings (except for the JuCos who don't get an RR).
