Obviously, he is a sleeper because they don't have a 40 time for him, strength measurements, GPA, etc. Rivals shows that SMU is the only school that he looked at.

Welcome aboard Chris. Another Mustang has joined our family. You will not regret your decision to attend SMU. Beautiful campus. Beautiful facilities. Beautiful coeds. Beautiful coaches.
Enjoy, but keep the books in hand.
Just send 'da money.

BTW that size listed for Parham appears to be a tad generous-as he was measured at an Insiders camp at Ford during the summer at 5-11.5, 234 and ran a 4.83.

Parham also went to the College Station Nike Camp who measured him at 6-0, 235. Quite frankly, I don't know what position I should use to compare him to other recruits. Is he a DE, LB, or potential Jerry Ball at Defensive Lineman. I'm going to list him at DE because that's where he wanted to be classified at the Nike Camp and how he is listed in his commitment. Quite frankly I don't think he has the speed or quickness to be a LB if the following is accurate. Parhan ran a 4.85(9th out of 24 DEs), 5.24 Shuttle(next to last out of 22), Bench 19(10th out of 28), Vertical 22.6 (26th out of 28). Something tells me this guy may eventually play inside.

That might well be true -- I heard early in the fall that he really wanted a chance to play at SMU. I don't know if he has an old tie to SMU (family?) or because teammate (LB) Todd Alexander committed early.
Welcome to Pony Nation, Chris!

I wonder if he was sick or injured or something at that camp. This year he measured 6'2" and 240 (still running in the 4.8s), has benched 350, squatted 475 and posted a vertical jump of 33 inches. (This info is second-hand from his coach, and while HS coaches sometimes inflate numbers on their players, the numbers about his teammate -- fellow Pony commit Todd Alexander -- seem to have been confirmed elsewhere … so maybe he had a bad day at that camp and is a little better than we thought.)
