From rivals:
Adron Tennell
Wide Receiver
Irving (Irving High School), Texas
Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 200 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.43 seconds
SCHOOLS OF INTEREST
Mississippi State, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, SMU, TCU
Word is he wants to play both sports. A longshot for SMU, perhaps, but aim high, huh?

word is Tennell may be one of the best prospects in the nation at any position. He has Roy Williams type size and speed.

How would you like to be the defensive coordinator and see the Ponies line up in a 4-WR set with 6'3" Renaldo Pellerin, 6'4" Bobby Chase, 6'5" Adron Tennell and 6'5" Philip Burley? And with 6'5" Ryan Kennedy as a TE safety valve?
Better yet, how would you like to be the quarterback for that offense?

You know how you hear coaches say that recruiting great players suddenly makes you a better coach?
Somehow, I think a lineup like the one HorsePower describes would suddenly make you a better QB. That's a lot of big targets who can run.

Any chance Coach Bennett and Coach Tubbs would share a guy like this?

I don't know if it would happen...but after reading the other posts I'm very excited about the possibility. I'm IN!!!!!!

He is the longest of longshots, I would think, because every team in the country might well be after him. I don't believe Coach Bennett and Coach Tubbs would want to share .... but might they make an exception in this case? If he plays both, I think his scholarship would count against the football scholarship total. If that's the case, I expect he wouldn't be allowed to go near a basketball until the football season is over.
If Coach Bennett has any kind of pull over his brother Jim, this is the time to make Jim pay up, in the form of a big, fast play-making WR.

Adron likes TT and their offense...time for Bennett to call in the family favor

I've got the recruiting plan, get Bennett to push his brother for Adron's services and then push Jim Bennett and Adron to get us his cousin Jamaal Evans and suddenly we have a prized WR and RB combination!

Isn't Evans leaving the state, either for his last year of HS or at least for college?
Let's get the big WR, then worry about who we get with him.

If Florida State and U Va. can handle a player who plays both sports, we ought to make it a priority to give this kid a shot at being a two sport player. If that is his desire, we of all the schools in the country ought to be able to accomodate his desire. Neither team has been setting the world on fire and this kind of recruit can generate some momentum.

Evans was thinking about leaving the state, but didn't and reenrolled at Irving High School. Sounds like he is strongly thinking outside of the state for college, but maybe his cousin can change his mind

With the story this week about the Bball player Paulas Ritter in Spring Football, we now have an answer about sharing.

Latest article from Rivals states that TT is Adron's top choice.
Primarily because they pass so much...isn't that what our Spread offense is supposed to be doing???
Just to update: Adron got a scholarship offer from OU over the weekend.
