The DMNs today reported that Gary Flowers, Lincoln HS standout, was ruled academically ineligible for the BB playoffs. This is the second straight year he has missed the playoffs because of academic problems. One of the recruiting sites reports he scored a 1060 on the SAT. I do not know if he could even get into SMU but he sounds risky from an academic standpoint.

What are the academic guidelines for SMU? 1060 would get you in most programs across the nation. Depending on GPA, 2.5 and below need to get only a 820 to pass NCAA guidelines.

well you still need the required sliding GPA score in the 13-15 core classes required by the NCAA so aceing a shop class doesn't count.
