Arthur and Lewis

Any word about Darrell Arthur cutting down his list today? I also heard Kelvin Lewis is ready to name his 5 finalists. Dont know if we are a finalist for either, but I guess for the time being we can still dream of hauling in both together in a package. I've heard indications from non-SMU sources that Lewis is really interested in coming down I-30. He has some great offers though.

No word yet on either-Jazzy Hartwell Arthur's AAU coach said that would call Rivals today with these Finalists so it should be today.

if its a prank, its a good one. That list is very plausible . Probably true. Oh well. The only hope I have is that he doesnt go to frickin Baylor. I dont know what they are doing down there, but its a little hard to believe so soon after what happened. They dont deserve a turnaround like that would portend.

Good sources say, Baylor does not have a salary cap this year.

It's called a coach that works his arse off and is a great recruiter. Has been around basketball all his life so he knows what the players want(besides $$$ :D ). Plus, I'd think the extra NCAA officers on campus would know of any money passage.

Kansas, UNC, UT are the top 3.

UNC has him as a fallback to 2 other big men they like better, Kansas really wants him, and UT is being very quiet about it.

If Q's cousin ends up in Waco, the NCAA needs to set up a satellite office down there. If he comes to SMU, or goes to UNC or KU, fine -- those make sense. If he goes to BU, there's something really wrong down there.

So apparently this was not the top 5 guy we had "in the bag"--I wonder who it is? The suspense is killing me!

we always had a better chance at Beal or Sloan, who are top 5 in Texas. Arthur is top 5 in the country. I did think we would stay in the Arthur race a little longer though.

Texasroundball runs a pretty active website, and the guru there does not think Baylor is in the running at all. They think its KU, UT, UNC and maybe OU. Some people are saying UNC only wants him if he will stay for more than one year. KU really wants him.

Baylor will get some good players - the Baylor coach and his "chief recruiter" won't let piddly details such as NCAA rules and regulations get in their way. That program is in for harder times with those 2 in charge.

If we are chasing Beal and Sloan, we want Sloan. Beal's best years were 2 years ago. He can't dominate physically as he could when he was younger and his shot mechanics are terrible.

the latest update I saw on Beal did not mention SMU and you forgot to say we really didn't want him anyway. You also have Sloan way overrated as the consensus is that he is maybe a Top 150 player but certainly not close to a Top 5 in Texas although I know Texazs Hoops has him up there.
