New Braunfels faced traditional power Stephenville and the consensus No. 2 rated QB in the Texas -Jevan Sneed-who has committed to Florida St. Roades' performance compared favorably to Sneed except on the scoreboard where Stephenville won 56-28. Roades was 22-39 for 283 yards with 2 TDs of 22 and 41 yards and 2 Ints. He also rushed 58 yards on 12 carries. Incredibly he accounted for 93% of New Braunfels Total offense with 341 of 365 total yards. Sneed on the other hand was 20-32 for 116 yards and no Ints. Stephenville was a preseason No. 6 in the Texas Football 4A Top 20.

Zach Rhoades was 16-23 for 149 yards but has 3 Ints in New Braufels 19-14 loss to Pleugerville Connally last nite. He threw for a 9 yard TD pass and scored on a 7 yard run. He also added 44 yards rushing on 14 carries.

BTW another game report said Roades had 221 yards passing-not sure which is correct.

a little more info-the New Braunfels paper is confirming 16-23 for 149 yards with 3 Ints however one of the interceptions was on a last second Hail Mary. Also, it probably should be added that Pfleugerville Connally is rated No. 7 in 4A so New Braunfels has had an unusually tough schedule with always tough Stephenville and Pfleugerville Connally.

something had to give when two winless teams match up. New Braunfels 45 Del Valle 7. Rhoades was 15-25 for 228 yards. Added 7 carries for 83 yards. TD passes of 61 and 7 yards. TD run of 39 yards.

Rhoades at the Halfway mark:

80-133 60% 8 Ints 12 TDs(9 Passing+ 3 Running) 966 yards Passin plus 295 yards rushing on 57 carries. New Braunfels doesn't have much of a running game and wouldn't be surprised if Rhoades accounts for 75% of their Total Offense.

UPDATE: I ran the numbers and Rhoades has accounted for 1261 out of 1498 total offense for New Braunfels or 84% of theit Total Offense-pretty amazing.

UPDATE: noticed Roades finished 3rd in the District 27-4A District Track Meet at 11.22 in the 100 Meters so he's got nice speed for a QB-especially if he really is 6-2-unverified. Actually, he ran a 11.08 100 Meters at another meet.

Read where Lake Travis (6-0) whipped NB & Rhodes-- he threw 200+ yds & had 2 TD & 2 INT.

BTW, 1 of the top 4A QB (Austin area) looks to be at Lake Travis. QB Reesing threw for 375 yds a few weeks ago.

Reesing is only about 6-0 tall but is going to Kansas.

in almost every game this year there's been a descrepancy between the New Braunsfel paper and the Austin paper but Rhodes was either 19-35 or 19-37 for either 187 or 209 yards. He had 2 TD passes both for 27 yards. No Interceptions. He also ran 12 times for 18 yards. Either way he had almost all of New Braunsfels 233 Total offense. He must be the whole team, Texas Football in the summer magazine noted they returned 3 Offensive players but there was trouble brewing in both lines due to lack of experience. Rhodes appears to be a one man show. They have absolutely no running game except for yardage gained by the QB.
