according to his coach SMU made the cut for Jermaine Beal final six schools. Beal is the No. 12 player in Texas and No. 99 in the US. The list of finalist also include OU, OSU, Ill., Vandy, and Baylor. Since SMU is so close he will probably take an unofficial to SMU and Baylor. His ideal school would have a good business school and provide the opportunity for early playing time. If you're counting SMU is a finalist for DFW recruits 5 star Arthur, 4 star Kelvin Lewis, 4 star Jermaine Beal and 3 star Odufuwa. I say they just decide to go as a package deal and we call it a day and start working on the 2007 class. I wonder if any of these other kids might be making an unofficial or official visit this weekend since we know that Odufuwa is scheduled to visit. Also, does anybody know where these kids are close-I believe they each play on separate AAU teams Beal-Dallas Mustangs, Lewis -Dallas Slam Blue(noticed he wears a Dallas Mustangs T-Shirt on his Rivals picture, Arthur first Team Texas then Urban DFW Elite and Odufuwa-Dallas Showtime

How incredible would that be if we somehow landed them all. I would finally get that Diamond M tattoo on my backside if they all signed with the Mustangs.

Makes you wonder if Ford / SMU had been better off with a state-of-the-art coliseum than stadium.

I prefer football, but would rather excel at one sport than stink at two.

throw in Donald Sloan too. Word is he is interested. I dont know what will happen, but on the day he was hired I said Tubbs would get us in the game and give us a chance with good talent. Whether he can overcome our lack of investment in Moody, we'll see.

I've not heard any talk of a package deal with any of these local guys, but rest assured they all know each other very well.

yeah Sloan has SMU in the mix but the other day he appeared to cut his visit list to 4. Hopefully, we could get an unofficial visit out of him. Get some momentum and things start snowballing. We need someone to make the snowball first.

Beal and Arthur have played together on select teams since the 7th grade.

OK information I've received since that recent Rivals story indicates that Sloan will soon make a visit to SMU as well. Sloan is a Rivals 3 star and No. 141 in the country. So Tubbs still has us in the running for just about every top DFW recruit we have been focusing on this year.

That's great progress in itself, but every time I start to get a little giddy I remind myself how this ain't horseshoes....

To bad Dedman isn't still alive to purchase another portion of the campus.
