anybody seen this guy play-he is tearing it up this year but he's an unknown in recruiting circles. Probably because he was measured at 5-8 and runs a 4.78 timed Forty. Got to think that time is a mistake or he was injured. Wonder if he'd make a decent Inside receiver or maybe a Barry Sanders clone. I read an article last week that said he was leading Texas 5A in rushing with 1205 yards. Then he got 330 more yards rushing this weekend to give him 1535 yards. He is making runs of 96 yards etc-he don't run no 4.78.

I noticed that the Scout(formerly Insiders) network timed him at 4.54 in the Forty at a camp at Waco-so throw out the Rivals time.

How is he built and what is his weight.

My reason for asking is.... Can he take punishment from D-1 players and LIVE to run again another day?

If the kid is playing 5A ball in texas than he can take a hit even at 176 or 181. Besides we can beef him up a little provided he doesn't lose a step.

you can only hope a guy like this gets overlooked by the big boys because he's "too small". Speaking of too small, it will be interesting to see what young Mapps does at SMU before he's done. I know I sure enjoyed watching his dad play

Oh...Henerson and Warren were too small to play at this level, too as I recall.

are you sure that's Raymond Mapps son-I think I may have mentioned I hoped it was when we were recruiting him-but never saw that confirmed.

I thought I had read that somewhere, but checking the recruiting bio there is no mention of Raymond., so maybe I was just hopeful and made that up?

Pierce is doing it against good competition. Something is wrong on his recruiting sheet because he is not only a great kid, but a very good RB. Teams line up to stop him and he still gets his numbers.

Justin (a JR) at Berkner is the same. A one dimensional offense but nobody can stop it.

We absolutely have to look at productivity when we recruit, because the big schools will be looking at size/speed (ignoring productivity of smaller/slower players)...just a few years ago Ryan Moats was tearing it up in high school and getting ignored, and he SHOULDVE been a mustang before being one of the best runners in college last year at La Tech

we delayed his acceptance into the university because of academic issues-one of the biggest admission blunders so far.

Justin Johnson is a very good basketball player as well. Last year, he showed great leadership skills and stood out as one of the better players in the DISD Holiday Tourney.

SMU may still be in the mix for Andre Pierce. He has visited but hasn't been offered yet by SMU. Pierce will visit Baylor this weekend. Gee I guess 2300 yards doesn't get ya much these days when everybody is looking for Tall WRs.

As long as the 4.78 forty is wrong we should offer. He had all those yards and made 95 yard runs this year. There is no way that 4.78 is his average speed.
