of Tyler JC (6-7, 313) has reportedly been offered by SMU along with a host of others, including USC(arolina), Nebraska, Okla St, Iowa St, UTEP, Houston, La-Laf and Texas State. He plans to visit OSU, ISU, Nebraska and USC. Well...at least we are aiming high and offering guys who might make a difference if they decide to come to SMU.

This report from Phil Kornbluth, recruiting analyst who reports every Monday in The State Newspaper, Columbia, SC

Was he at Tyler last year, too, or is this his first?
If he was there last year, that means he played with Adrian Haywood.
Food for thought.

don't get your hopes up too high but he is one of the hottest JUCO recruits out there. Rivals did a story today with extensive quotes from Boatman and he never mentions SMU. Already plans 4 visits Okla St(12/2), Iowa St (12/9), Neb (12/16) and will visit South Carolina. Confirms offers by UTEP, OSU, Iowa St, TCU, South Carolina, Nebraska and A&M. Other than mentioned all the above programs in direct quotes though he said he has no real favorites and wants to play early. Did we mention he is 6-8 315 and reportedly runs a 5.05. Has 3 years to play 2 so he was at Tyler last year.

now it's entirely possible Kornbluth (who focuses on the southeast) has his facts mixed up and substituted SMU for TCU in his story. Another slap in the fact for TCU...that despite their success, SMU is still more recognized by many.

you know I bet that is what happened because today's report was from Tony Morrell of GamecocksCentral the South Carolina Rivals cite. You'd think his quotes mentioning TCU would be more accurate but who knows. The 3 prior Rivals reports also mentioned TCU and not SMU.
