one of the biggest emerging sleepers of the recruiting season has been Plano RB Justin Jordan who has led his team back to a 11-0 record after several lean years. Jordan wasn't even listed in the Area Top 100 but has had a great year. He's about 5-11, 190. The DMN reports that "he has talked to SMU and TCU coaches. 7 TD runs of over 30 yards. I've heard conflicting reports about his eligibility status.

Funny you should mention this guy, Stallion. I'd never heard of him until today, when I talked to a friend who teaches at Plano. He said Jordan is a smart kid, and without getting into specifics, it sounded like he (teacher) thinks Jordan should qualify.

I asked what kind of player Jordan is, and the way he described it is "very quick -- give him a small gap and he'll get through it." He didn't say anything about raw speed or stats, but he did say that the guy has gotten a lot of "personal letters" (he had no idea about offers) from some big schools like UCLA and Miami. Maybe he's just a name in their database, or maybe he's got real talent. I don't know.

I think he got a little over 1200 yards rushing and about 160 in passing receptions but averaged about 9 yards per carry. He only carried the ball about 14 times a game.

I saw him play one game this year and he was an awesome HS running back. I don't know what kind of a beating he can take. he is getting about 16-20 touches a game but when he touches the ball he is pretty impressive. When I saw Martin in HS I thought he was a much more impressive back because the more you ran him the more you took out of the other team. Plus he had the ability to carry a team. Jordan has not shown that so far.

Stallion, I am confused are you excited about a guy with no offers...
All joking aside his stats look good, lets sign him.

No I'm just reporting what I hear or read. Don't know enough about him. He's still alive in the playoffs so he's a guy to keep an eye on.

I just took the time to look at the 4 reels of highlites on Jordan on Rivals(about 20 plays). This kid is big enough to play RB in college and I was very impressed with his acceleration. He's the type that fearlessly accelerates through the holes instead of juking and jiving at the line. He's got excellent speed too. Must be about 10 home runs in these highlites both running and catching. Check him out if you got time. He's got about 1420 yards rushing which ain't bad until you realize he only carries the ball about 14 times a game-about 100-150 carries below all the big names a head of him. 18 TDs though-he makes big plays. I'd like to see that Plano v. SLC game this weekend. SLC should be the heavy favorite but Plano has gone from 0-10 to 13-0 in just 2 years.

Saw a story on the news last night (Fox Sports SW, I think) about Plano's return from the ashes, and the story included highlights of this Jordan kid. Wow.

Jordan had 74 yards at halftime as Plano built a 13 point lead on Southlake Carroll but added only 28 yards in the second half to finish with 102 yards rushing. He finished the year with over 1520 yards rushing.

Final Stats for Jordan 17 carries for 102 yards 6.0 ypc., 1 reception for 6 yards and 1 TD. Meanwhile the "star" of the game was Tre Newton, Nate Newton's son who is just a sophmore at Carroll who ran 31 carries for 143 yards and caught 5 catches for 59 yards. I just gotta feeling that someone is going to get themselves a super sleeper in Jordan. If he was utilized more in his offense he probably would have put up some huge numbers.

With Plano running the veer it was a miracle he was get the touches that he was. A little 47G here, 54 drive there, and the occasional pitch to him and that was it.

Justin is an awesome and very talented young man. He is very interested in SMU. Coach Bennet needs to be at Plano Senior High getting his signature as soon as possible! There are other quality players on this very spirited Plano squad that could also impact SMU. Plano and SMU are a natural combination, and the Mustang coaches should be mining all three Plano senior highs (as well as Highland Park) for future playmakers.

As a senior at Plano West, I have seen Justin Jordan play in 6 games this season, and although I hate Plano, Stallion's got it right. He is quite a sleeper, and really carried the team most of the playoffs.

His acceleration to the outside is excellent; over the playoffs (4 games) he probably had about 8 or 10 runs of 10+ yards on runs off the tackles.

He was their go to guy all through the playoffs, and really got it done. I was impressed with how he kept eating up yards when they needed to burn the clock down in their three playoff wins.

He's not really a power back, but he seems to be a tough kid with plenty of endurance.

All I have to say is that he definitely looked fine when he hung 277 yards and 3 touchdowns on us; just not so great from the West sideline.
