List of recruits that make comments on the UTEP game...

I thought I would start a thread where we put players who mention something about the UTEP game... it might be interesting to see how many recruits mention it as a factor to see how much that game and the end of the season effects recruiting.
Clark Harrell, QB, Ennis, 6-2, 189.
2 stars, 5.4 rating
Ofered by UTEP, Az St, Baylor, Wisc, SMU, Tulsa, Louisiana Tech.
"SMU, I love the school. I think it's a great school you know great education. Graduating from SMUs a big deal, and obviously they're not great but they beat UTEP the last week and then Houston the week before so you know maybe they're starting to turn things around."
Jonathan Ellis, WR, 5-10, 152.
2 stars, 5.0
Only a division 2 offer, but claimed UTEP and SMU are interested.
"There aren't any new offers, but I went to the SMU game this past Saturday and watched them beat UTEP," Ellis said. "That really surprised me but I was glad to see them win. I am kind of disappointed that more offers haven't come, but I figure things will start happening sooner or later."

Great a 5' 10" WR, just what we need another one of those.

I don't think Jerry Levias was that tall...of course, he didn't wear a white helmet.

What is amazing is the list of previous UTEP leans that are suddenly having second thoughts. I count 5 so far!

Levias also played when many other receivers were 5'10", now there are receivers at 6' 2"+.

I wasn't implying that they are recruits of high quality, just saying it would be interesting to list the recruits that start to sway because of our run at the end of the season...
Oh, and the 152 is a lot more negative than the 5-10...

Come on people, don't listen to the guys who coach this kid or coach against him, or the writers who attend his games and know what he can and can't do. Stallion has decreed he's not a player, so there's no need to consider the opinions of those who have actually seen him or evaluate talent for a living.
Stallion, I like so much of what you write here, but damn, do you need a ladder to climb up on your high horse?

Look boys, we get five wins and suddenly we can cull right here on the message board. Give the thread a chance...I personally don't have a dog in this discussion, I never even heard of the kid, it just doesn't seem appropriate to run down a 18 year old because he is only 5' 10", when did we get so high and mighty. And Stallion, you take the pucking cake!

Stallion is the self-proclaimed recruiting expert, even though it is doubtful whether he has seen any of them play. Should we ever need a new recruiting coordinator, I know that Stallion should be a natural to take the role where he could use his expertise reading Rivals to tell Phil and the coaches who to recruit. Maybe, he could also work on "the Model" if he worked for the school.

I know nothing about recruiting, but I do know that if we want to become a resident of the Top 25 we don't need 5'10 WR's who have zero offers from Div 1a schools. I don't know anything about this kid, but based solely on what information is posted, we should pass. If we are really interested like the kid claims, this might indicate a deeper problem with this recruiting class and we all might want to push the panic button.

Geez, give this thread a break. It is about the general flow of recruit's impressions after the SMU-UTEP game and not about the attractiveness or lack there of, of any particular recruit.

I'd bet he is looking for a school with a baseball team anyway.
