5-10, 170 4.5 Putnam City Oklahoma. Lined up 3 visits and 2 offers. SMU(12-9), Stanford (1-13) have offered and Northwestern had him in on a visit 10-28. Rated 5.2 by Rivals and is the No. 27 player in Oklahoma. Scout also includes an offer by UAB and Northwestern based on his quote. Scout and McCann say he is 5-11. Ran a 10.33 100M as a junior. Ran 4.43 at SMU camp. 3.75 GPA 25 ACT. Team MVP as Junior with 44 tacles, 3 Ints and 1 sack, 449 yards on 28 offensive touches, 6 TDs, blocked 7 kicks through Junior season. Apparently all schools are recruiting him as a CB.

here's some info I found about McCann about 1 month ago. Remember he got hurt early in his Senior year. I think most are recruiting him as a DB. Note for all you conspiracy theorist his Rivals rating jumped from 5.2 to 5.5 3 star AFTER commiting to SMU. We get a lot of breaks like this from Rivals at least about 6-8 over the last 3 years. I think we have someone on staff that likes Bennett in fact. We get very fair treatment from Rivals

Or could it be that they are just updating their lists...as I asked about two weeks ago. Teh response was taht they have not updated the lists since summer and they woudl be coming out soon.

they update player rankings hundreds of times every day. They don't update the Lists but 2 or 3 times a year. It is not a conspiracy. We get the benefit of upgraded rivals ratings more than just about any school I know. Every time it happens I point it out on this board-and its happened at least 6-8 times in the last few years.

BS on all that. I have noticed and said said last year on this very board that BCS schools automatically get upgrades as soon as a lower ranked player commits to a BCS school. Once a player commits to a BCS school, that player is positioned to be automatically "uprgraded" in points... if not stars.

The Florida State fan board, as an example, has a "recruiting expert" whose handle is... "Dot.com" . He is actaully a writer or "correspondent" for Rivals with Florida State. It is only natural for the "writers" or owners of these fan boards to upgrade there teams player rankings. Hype sells.

BTW, Ponyfans is not a Rivals "teammate".

you so biased that you can not see the forest from the trees. ALL but maybe 2 of Texas' commitments have 10-20-30 maybe 60 offers. The other two committed over 10 months ago and have refused to consider other teams. They get upgraded because they are just plain more highly recruited. I call [deleted] on you ever being able to acknowledge the huge prejudice YOU have and how out of touch with reality YOU really are. So who is the most biased? Rivals who have rated UT/USC classes as the best in the countryu or you who have been a sunshiner despite 16 straight years of nothing. I'll take Rivals record over your record any day.

I do not have a record .....only to say that Rivals does indeed up the rankings of BCS recruits...almost as soon as they commit.

I admit, I do have a prejudice for SMU... all I asked for from you is a list of Giles' recruits who have contributed to SMU football....and then to get a vile of venom in response....why take it soooo personally?

Come on Stampede, stallion is the expert on the rivals process and recruiting in general. The quicker we all acknowledge that, the vile of venom may go away.

You are right, Pony Fan. An idea...

We should just have our year end recruiting "celebration party" at Stallion's house. Then we could get his 2006 "recruiting wrap up"...oh no, we already got that in 2002.

Otherwise, we stand no chance of seeing him at the Radisson for the official "recruiting wrap-up".

Good point, I for one would love to go to his house and drink his whiskey while he talks about yet another year of failure.

Again, what say we talk about guys we're recruiting, rather than attacking each other?

Regardless of how Rivals does there ratings, the higher the rating, the better that team finishes in the polls 3-5 years down the road.

How can you be so smug when our record is 38-84 since 1995? Oh yeah, we are making steady progress! Stay tuned, we will be in a bowl within a decade. Our coaches are better talent evaluators.

Every time you want to feed us your BS, start by telling us how great our record is over the past 10 years. We have been hearing about progress for 15 years! Progress!!!!!!

That is really fast, he will play right away at SMU and he is a gamebreaker to the fullest. Can't wait to see you in the red and blue McCann.

I go to ALL of the games. Yes I have seen progress, especially last year.

The progress that I would like to see is like Tulsa or UTEP who did it in one to two years and have been to bowls. Unfortunately, our progress has taken place over 17 years, and we still havn't been to a bowl

Anytime that you have trouble understanding what I mean, just look at our record. Then if you still don't understand, look at TCU's. Its the record that counts, not the potential.

Before you respond, look at the 19 year RECORD! 19 years!!. I have supported them the whole time, and I am tired of hearing about steady progress. I want results not more excuses.
