the Rivals article said he was also recruited by Baylor, Tcu and either Tulane or Tulsa-there was a misprint of the story and it ended with "Tu".

in 2003 was All District 16-4A out of Corsicana High. He's a weight lifter who qualified 12th at the State Meet in the 275 pound weight class in 2004 with a combined lift of 1460 whatever that means. At Navarro was an Honrable Mention All Southwest Junior College Football Conference selection-(BTW they only pick a First Team-no Second Team-and other honorees are Honorable Mention.)

Stallion:

Didn't you say in the past that all JCs are rated as 2 star on Rivals? So this does not necessarily indicate anything good or bad if that is the case.

Is this our first Juco offensive lineman in forever? I like it. The O Line is one area where we have needed a juco or two to give us a boost for years.

No this isn't correct...Rivals does give JCs the regular star ratings. For instance Marcus Johnson and Omar Haugabook (both being recruited by SMU) are three star athletes. Just more difficult for a JC to obtain a higher star rating than they had coming out of high school since Rival's focus is on high schoolers.

what Rivals doesn't do is give a rating under the secondary more precise rating system used for High School players -ie 5.0 thru 6.0. There's is generrally a big diffference in the number of offers received, for example, by a 5.0 rated player and a 5.4 rated player. But with JUCOs they would both be just 2 stars. Again, the ratings are interesting- but the number and quality of OFFERS received is more telling.

so did he have offers from those other schools mentioned?

it was a short story based on a telephone call to Navarro coaches-so it wasn't based on the recruit's own info. I listed the schools who had shown interest according to Navarro coaches. Don't really know about offers. Hopefully they will follow up with a post from the recruit. We should know soon enough because JC signing date is just arounfd the corner.

Rivals has fixed the Tu problem and it is Tulsa that was recruiting him also!
