maybe we should have extended that SMU offer a little quicker. This according to the Michigan Insiders site-Mississippi has offered too but he is turning down a planned trip to Mississippi this weekend to go to Ann Arbor. So Stampede whose next on the list-and please fill us in on exactly what's going on with that Calfornia JUCO QB-everybody would love to know exactly what happened to that phenom?

Michigan, are u kidding? Lets be honest, it wouldnt have mattered if we offered the moon and he committed months ago. He would have decommitted anyway once Michigan offered before signing date. Hell, he dropped Ole Miss like a hot potato and just last week didnt he say how much he wanted to play in the SEC? I guess at least Bennett is in on some talented guys.

Damn them...maybe he will decide it is too big of a stadium, too rich with tradition and just too many fans.
Though it is really cold up there right now and maybe the 8 months of winter will scare him away

Maybe we should have let another QB (#7) get a little more playing time so we would not be in such a pickle at QB right now.

Well.... if Danna does decide some other school i sright for him...okay.
Decisions are made daily by people "dioing what they feel is best for them". He, like many (or should I say 13) recruits this year, will decide SMU is the BEST place for them to continue their athletic/scholastic endeavors.
You're right Stallion. Don' t fret too much. Coach Bennett and SMU have a another legitimate QB in the works (close to the West coast) who is a stud. Stay tuned

yeah... so we could have an experienced QB playing the tight end position. I hope his move to tight end was because of the shoulder injury. That's the only way I can be contented with the move.

Close to the west coast....so, I guess that translates to the QB at either AZ Western, Mesa, Glendale, Phoenix Coll, etc...At any rate, I think it translates into a good thing that we're in the running for a QB that also is wanted by Ole Miss and Michigan. How many such offers did Eckert & Romo have coming from juco?

Of course the argument would be that if we had offered Danna early and he had committed early, then Michigan would not have even looked at him.

Quite frankly I rather hold out for Division 1A transfer from a BCS school than take our 10th QB on the list. There are plenty of them and quality is availiable-QBs don't like to sit on the bench. I especially dislike taking two JUCO QBs in the same class-think that's pretty stupid unless you realize that the two guys you get and the players you already have are such gambles that you you want to double your odds-that just means your recruiting at the position has failed. If they take two JUCO QB s then there are real questions on Mockingbird about Willis. It is amazing to me that over the last 3 years we have recruited so low on the QB charts.

I really doubt we take two JC quarterbacks, with only 13 scholarships to give. Especially since we have a high school quarterback committed as well who we really like. And you never know, maybe another HS quarterback is seeing the light..........

Having two JUCO QBs come in is NOT a bad thing. I wouldn't be surprised to see it at all. We need two upperclass QBs on the roster. Willis might be decent, but I would love to see him not play until his Junior year. Even if Phillips were available, we would be taking 1 JUCO QB. With CP out, we need two.

....2 JUCO QBs in one year means you have failed to recruit quality and you are desperate.

Amazingly, I agree with stallion, but we only have two on the football team right now.

What type of abilities do we have in Duke Hasson and Jason Rowan (if he is still with us). Surely we recruited these kids with the thought they might be able to play. Is there any talk about their progress since joining the team. Anyone ever see either of them play in high school or sprong practice or 2-a-days?
