probably one of the top players SMU might have a shot at is S Jason Teague from Cathage. There is a wire report on a lot of state wide newspapers announcing the Texas 3A All State Team that list SMU in contention. Teague was 3A Defensive Player of the Year but was also Honorable mention at RB. Never came off the field it looks like. 79 Tackles, 8 Ints, 4 Forced Fumbles, 5 Blocked Punts, 1 Blocked FG, 1,453 yards rushing and 17 TDs. His coach was quoted in the story as saying he has been offered by LSU, TCU, Arkansas, and SMU and is also considering OU and UH

Wow -- rather impressive resume.
Do you mean he was 3A Defensive Player of the Year for the whole state?
How big is he?

Just looked on Rivals. They've got him at 6-2, 190, 4.48 .... but I didn't see SMU listed among his options. Am I looking on the wrong page or something?

OU has offered and recruiting him hard. Got the Longview connection working on him during his visit and they were shocked when he didn't commit. Visiting TCU this weekend, but LSU & OU have to be the frontrunners on him.

And his quote on the TCU board was, "I committed to LSU because of the education. Everyone can play football but not everyone can have a degree."
Has he checked their graduation rate? And what kind of degree was he looking for? Crawfish boiling? Maybe with a Master's if he includes the corn?
This kid couldn't even GET into SMU.
