LSU Tigers Get Carthage CB; Considered SMU
Posted: Sun Dec 25, 2005 5:36 pmCB Jason Teague, Carthage, Texas, 6-2, 190 -- Had 79 tackles, eight interceptions, five blocked punts, four fumble recoveries and two blocked field-goal attempts as a senior. Was voted the Class 3A Player of the Year at the school located 35 miles west of Shreveport. Rushed for 1,300 yards and scored 17 touchdowns. Visited Oklahoma and LSU. Considered Texas Christian, Southern Methodist University, Baylor, Houston and Arkansas. Has 4.48 speed. Has a 2.9 GPA and is fully qualified.
"He can play safety or corner; he is our best running back and our best receiver," Carthage coach Mike Bickham said. "He is a tremendous athlete, with that stop-and-start ability coaches love. He has tremendous hands and great moves."
