DB Daniel Johnson is scheduled to visit SMU next weekend, and he's a stud. This would be HUGE accomplishment if we could get this guy to end up a Mustang!

With somewhat a change from prior years, we seem to be getting quite a bit of interest from Houston area kids. Maybe because we beat Houston, Rice and TCU?

A 6'3" safety who runs a 4.4, and by all accounts is a great player, not just a great athlete? He'd look pretty good next to Sturdivant (if he played as a freshman), don't you think? That's the measurables that make coaches drool.

At least is showing a medium interest in us...there is a chance there!
Hopefully PB sells this kid on early playing time and being a big fish in a little pond.

It's making me drool, that's for sure. Go get him, coaches!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe I HERD somewhere that former Mustang 0-lineman & grad asst. Austin Adami is the O-line coach @ Spring Woods High School. If this is true this could be the connection that gives the Mustangs an advantage.

Nope (see other thread) -- Coach Adami is at Keller HS.

He was the o-line coach back in 2003 at Springwood though...doubt that really counts for much now but might.

FYI, a source close to A&M indicates that although Johnson is very talented, he is not a main target for them.
So, there is a good chance that we could actually land this guy.

we don't even have a single report that he ever uttered the words SMU in his sleep. This is why I'm not going to sit back and let a lot of inaccurate info go unchecked. Does anybody have confirmation from a single source that SMU is even in the picture?

We also don't have a single report in which he says "no way I'm looking at SMU." His name surfaced as someone with some kind of interest a month or two ago. I don't know if he does or not, but neither does anyone else here. We're going on the rock-solid reporting of rivals, aren't we? Speculation that he has interest has no more or less validity than speculation that he has no interest.
