Apparently pretty well since we got Zac Thomas out of it and Niutei seems to have enjoyed the trip.
Anyway know anything about Burley and his thoughts?

That's what I want to know, too. I was hoping to see a rivals report, but as of this morning, they have nothing new on him.
Follow your big brother to the Hilltop, Phillip!

If anyone has an update, please just leave a reply, I hope we can get some interest and maybe a few later commits from this big weekend. GO PONIES!

Patience... Burley had a tough decision to make. By mid-week I would guess we are going to hear either that he committs to SMU and cancels the Az trip or that he is still going to Az. If things had gone poorly, we would have heard about it by now, because he would want his name out there for people to know he is still available. Give him some time to think.
As a side note, has anyone here actually seen Kenard in person? That guy is huge and hard as a rock. I can't wait to see him at RT next year!

I'm pretty sure Arizona has backed off. Its more of a SMU, KU and Missouri battle with Burley.

Do you have a reason to believe he'll start at RT? I would think if Guidry is, in fact, gone, that the RT spot is still open. If the JUCO guy, Holmes, turns out to be good, could Ben Poynter be bumped out to RT? He played LT a little in 2004, so presumably he has the feet and mobility to play on either side, right (especially on the right side if we use a right-handed QB).
And yes, I saw Kenard a few weeks ago. He doesn't look like he's anywhere near 320, or whatever his listed weight is. The man has an enormous frame, and looks like he could ADD another 30 pounds, if he wanted to. Hope he gets a chance to show off his strength next year.

Horsepower,
Did Guidry leave? I haven't heard about this if he did. Please give details.

I'm afraid you know as much as I do .... I just knew it earlier, apparently. There was a thread on here a month ago or so, in which someone said Guidry was leaving, although it didn't say why. Personally, I hope it's not true. Regardless of who starts, you can NEVER have enough depth on the offensive line. We've been amazingly injury-free on the line the last couple of years (not without bumps and bruises, but considering the nature of the position, it's remarkable more guys didn't get maimed). Of course nobody wishes injury on anyone, but eventually it happens.
As for Phillip Burley, I don't see this as a tough decision at all. If I'm him, here are my reasons for coming to SMU:
* Great school
* Close to home - family and friends can come see me play
* Great weather
* Unmatched "scenery"
* Chance to play with my brother, thereby allowing my family to travel to one game per week
* Chance to win with my brother, thereby getting side-by-side face time on ESPN.com when we beat the Frogs again in Kenard's senior year
* Chance to play early, possibly even as a true freshman
* Team needs another big receiver
* Immediate name recognition among my new fans
* Won't get lost in a massive state school
* If I choose SMU, Kenard will not beat me senseless, and I'll be allowed to eat all of my meals, even when he's home
There's no decision to make! Come to SMU!

Didn't Ben Poynter's father get on here and mention that Guidry was leaving? I think he said something about Ben possibly moving out to RT to take over.

Guidry has a persistent injury to his arm. From what I "hear" it looks like he will hang it up.
