he decided to check out TCU first. He said his visit was "Fun" but said he is also excited to see what TCU has to offer. "Both are great programs plus SMU offers a great education". He did say that he could see himself going to a place like that.

Damn -- this is one guy I was really hoping we'd get this weekend. Hopefully he'll end up making the right decision and end up at SMU.

It sounded like Bennett wanted him to committ, but told him the scholarship is there for the taking if he wants it. He didn't have anything bad to say, he just wants to check out his options. Hopefully, our facilities, academics, and fact that we actually play the majority of our games in Texas will make a difference :).

Where is defensive line on TCU's list of needs? I know, every coach wants to collect defensive linemen, and they only have two committed at the moment.

Henry: You do not want to go to TCU. Keep saying it over and over until you call Coach Bennett to tell him you want to be a Mustang!

For those of you who haven't seen this guy play: think Justin Smith (Cincinnati Bengals). Not quite fast enough to be a pure pass-rushing DE, not thick enough to be a run-plugging DT. But absurdly strong and a high-revving motor that absolutely never stops. He's an extraordinary player (at least on the HS level) who I do NOT want to see at TCU.

DL Needs at TCU

TCU is in need of CBs and DTs in particular. So, if we like this guy, I would think he would be a high priority. But I am no insider.

Sorry...what I lack in substance, I also lack in style!:) I follow recruiting from a distance. Hard to know anything about most of these guys until a couple years down the road. I don't get too excited either way about 17-18 year olds choosing one school over another. Good luck on signing day!

What's wrong with you? Where do you get off coming on this site and spewing actual logic?
In other words: well said, RF.

Absolutely correct! Although it is fun to talk, speculate and opinionate about. Otherwise no "ponyfans". I would say that some of the best recruiting comes at the mid-level because once the known studs are gone to BCS schools, the mid-level coaches really have to be good evaluators of the remaining talent to figure out who really is a Div. 1 player, who the sleepers are and who best fits in their respective programs.

Don't get used to it....once the season starts, the purple glasses will be back on! 8) Not really - I love TCU but ultimately its just a game and there are lots of great schools to choose from. I have a hard time dealing with people who are such homers that you can't have a logical conversation with 'em.

Congrats on Burley - sounds like a real player.
