Don't know quite what to make of some of the recruits TT have as commits. Verified stats by Rivals (and this must mean they can not play):

Adrian Archie 5.4 time in the forty too slow
Dwayne Bazile only 5.2 stars
Ben Davis 5.1 time in the forty and 5.2 stars
Lyle Leong 158 lbs., runs a 4.5 but was probably wind aided too light
Trevor Reilly 6' 5", 200 lb. LB too light
Brandon Williams 4.8 time in the forty too slow

Relax, don't kill the messenger..... these are just the facts as reported by Rivals...must mean they can not and will not ever be players. Right?

were they involved in heated recruiting battles with Montana and Eastern Washington-I didn't think so.

Stallion, I think they are either razzing you because they know you will bite, or they are picking a fight because they know you won't.

I think we all know your general point is valid. We get it. SMU needs to change its model. Next.

In your efforts to point out all of the anecdotal evidence that places SMU's "model", "committment", and Admissions & Athletic Departments in a poor light vis-a-vis recruiting, you tend to throw the baby out with the bath water. Meaning: you disparage a kid based on his rivals rating and who is recruiting him vs. who is not recruiting him. Your point may not be to do that, or you might not care one way or the other, but you tend to post "the facts" as fashioned to your primary mission...criticizing the administrators/coaches/policies/model such that you figure you can embarrass some one or bludgeon someone into making a change.
Here's a glass of Belvedere raised to the day that SMU "gets it".

Everything else is designed to get you going because, face it, you are genuinely fun to razz. You either take your ball and go home or you go nuclear (tactically perhaps, but definitely WMD). Right, wrong, or indifferent, it doesn't matter what you say. You so much as add one line of "color commentary" to the mix, or write it as to have someone infer the same, it's a virtual lock that you are going to get hazed.

Point: the effectiveness of your message is starting to wane because you have carried on long enough that several posters just want to get you going. This isn't a legal argument. You are having to sell the message, not knock someone in the head with it. The minute that they tune out, your efforts are, to coin a phrase by the great Professor Jeremy Adams, simply P.V.A. Proof by Vigorous Assertion.

Relax, dude. If you are giving money to the athletic dept, go chew their butts. Otherwise, invest in your health and pick up a hobby...Tai Chi or yoga perhaps.


BTW, just for kicks, did anybody know that Jeremy D. Adams was Mr. NoWhere Man from the Yellow Submarine?

Did Stallion go to SMU? I just picture some guy with horn-rimmed glasses with 10 computers around him checking stats and the latest news on rivals. You know the old guy that would randomly show up at football games.. and all the parents wondered who's dad or grandpa he was. I'm guessing you're retired SMU guy with some serious time on your hands? Or a former college scout that is looking for a job? I don't know.. it's just what I picture.. Creeps me out a little

Leave Stallion alone. He goes to all the games and lives SMU football. We could use 10,000 more people like Stallion. The program would be better. And without him on this board, Ponyfans would not be as readable.

I'm not picking on Stallion.. just what I have pictured in my mind.. and I have no problem with his posts or him. He's a wealth of information and I love reading his posts/attacks.. they're informative and comical.

No doubt he is/has been/will be right more times than not. That isn't a crystal ball, and given his candor, he'd probably tell you that. It's the numbers.

Wrong. Stallion is a good contributor to this site, more often than not, but he does not make the board more or less readable, any more than you and I do. What makes this site is the fact that the guys who run it do it because they care about SMU and its athletic teams. This site has great information about SMU athletics -- some from the webguys, some from passionate fans -- that can't be found elsewhere. No single poster is bigger than PonyFans.com (well, except me, of course ). I'm addicted to this site, not any particular poster on it.

To me, the difference between game experiences can be best illustrated this way. @ TCU (sorry ReedFrawg), they carry what can be most easily described as "rotgut" in their flasks. @ SMU, we like to bring the finer qualities to games (okay, we have to smuggle it in, but that's beside the point)...Belvedere, perhaps a little Turkey (for those plebian moments), and if we are feeling particularly genteel, maybe some Port (though frankly, I am not a fan of it).
