Is anyone going to this? It said email someone for information, so that leads me to think I'd have to pay to go. If so, is it worth it, and how much would it be? Appreciate the responses in advance

Here's the email you referred to:

Join the Mustang Club for its annual Signing Day event on Wednesday, February 1 as Coach Phil Bennett will give a complete rundown on the members of the 2006 football recruiting class. This year's event will take place at the Radisson Hotel Central from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. SMU ended the 2005 season on three-game winning streak and is ready to take that momentum into 2006! To reserve your spot at this annual event please contact Kristi Kaiser at 214-768-1319 or [email protected].

Yes, it's worth it. Show your support of the Mustangs. Cost? If you went to SMU, money should not be an object, right?

Last year's event was at the Mercury Grille in north Dallas (Preston Road @ Forest Lane). Cash bar and hors d'ouevres. Lots of prominent SMU alumni and supporters were in attendance. Good to get a 'first-hand' report from Coach Bennett on signing day. Glad they picked the Radisson Central this year. The Mercury Grille was too far away for some folks last year. Better to have it situated closer to campus. The Radisson Central is just a stone's throw from the campus.

Plus it was packed wall to wall, with people that love SMU football! And I am one of them!

As stated above, the only cost was the cash bar...the hors d'ouevres were gratis. The MC is asking for you to call ahead, so they can get a grasp on how many hors d'ouevres to plan for.

yeah, too bad Ray won't let the the athletic dept use his restaurant again this year. i'm glad i don't have to drive all the way up to Forest. that must have broken all you guys complaining about the location w/ $3.00/gallon gas. what a load.

Don't get me wrong, i'm much happier w/ the Raddison - i don't have to worry about how many drinks I have b/c the HP/UP cops don't give me nearly as hard a time as DPD when i've been drinking.
