Evaluation: Dean possesses many of the qualities you look for in your offensive guard. He comes off the ball and delivers a good initial pop. He is very active with his hands and is more of a fist fighting positional blocker in the short area. He pulls very well and can get up to the second level. He locates and adjusts well to moving targets. He maintains a good base and can deliver a blow in space. He plays with attitude and works to finish his blocks. He is a strong pass protector that bends at the knees and does a nice job of punching with his hands to create separation. He has the feet to mirror defenders and the lateral quickness to handle penetrating rushers. He shows good patience and is tough to beat with double moves. Dean plays some offensive tackle but his ability to pull and grappling style will be better suited as a guard on the college level.
