Tim Crosby Garland ATH 5-10 170 4.5 - I was fumbling around rivals and came across this name I had not seen before. It says he's a solid SMU verbal. If you are a subscriber or insider, would appreciate any info. 2-star 5.3
Thanks.

Garland's Crosby picks SMU
08:28 PM CST on Tuesday, January 17, 2006
By TODD WILLS / The Dallas Morning News
Garland athlete Tim Crosby (5-11, 170) said Tuesday night that he has orally committed to SMU.
Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 1.
Crosby, who played quarterback and safety for Garland, said he expects to play cornerback for SMU. Crosby, No. 83 on SportsDay’s Area Top 100, picked the Mustangs over Tulane and Louisana-Monroe.

From Rivals:
Garland, Texas athlete Tim Crosby has decided to keep his college days close to home when he made his decision earlier today.
Offers from Wyoming, Tulane, Louisiana-Monroe had come through but it was the scholarship from SMU that the 5-foot-10, 170-pound prospect jumped on.
"Yeah, I committed to SMU today," Crosby said. "I'm real excited man. They've got my major and what I want to graduate with which is computer graphics. Plus, it's the best deal for me."
Crosby's trip this last weekend definitely made the difference.
"It's just a great campus and the players were guys that I felt like I fit in with," Crosby said. "This is it for me. I made my trip, my commitment is done, and I'm not taking any more trips."
40 yard dash: 4.5 seconds (unverified)

You have to like this quote from him "I like playing corner because you can hit the receiver from the blind side and really take him out."
I like athletic hard nose players.
Good job coaches!! It's been a great recruiting week so far...keep it up coaches!!

He's at another meeting with Stallion (Mr. "Bennett's getting shut out on top 100 guys") to discuss how to further their belief that this staff can't recruit any local talent.
More importantly, CONGRATULATIONS, Tim! Welcome to the Hilltop!

Billy Joe is still here folks. I am impressed with a few of the recent commits. I still would have liked to see more Jucos and Division 1-A transfers. Let's hope there are a few more quality players we can get.

What position do you think this guy will play? How many offers did he have, sounds like an interesting prospect.
