Any idea how long ago he committed?

Rivals doesn't have that commitment listed. Their profile of him says he benches 285 and sports a 3.8 GPA.

If he is a commit, then color me :D . I like his dimensions. Although not wanting to jinx it, I have to ask, could somebody have fat-fingered this and meant another school? Seems like we would have heard about the commit before now.

"Smoaky" (whoever that is) jumped rivals and scout on this one. I heard at the basketball game that he actually is committed.

He would be a pretty big corner...might he play free safety?

So, we supposedly have Austin Yancy (maybe) and this guy.
Are we looking at 16 or 17 scholarships now? Anybody else leaving the program? At the UTEP game, I saw some subtext between a running back and some folks in the stands (not saying who because is bad manners...just wondering if we picked up an open spot).

I know of at least one potential LB grayshirt. This whole "how many scholarships do we have?" thing is getting old.

So how many do we really have???

Do we have Austin Yancy?
I have heard that Jones is likely, if not yet official, but I get the impression Yancy is not yet a done deal.

If he is a pick up, then we got a tough one. He is a Cary Brabham type player that can gain weight and be a terrific SS. When he hits you, someone is going to get hurt. He was the Most Valuable player of his district. The kid never came off of the field for Rains.

Jones sounds impressive...

If anything SMU has always done a good job raising strong DB's, Jones looks like he will fit right into the equation.

Do we have confirmation on this?

Notwithstanding Strodtman's greyshirt commitment, I count 16 commits with Jones. Uh, we are three over our original thought of having 13.

Somebody somewhere is dealing with funky numbers.

I used to be an accountant at Enron - the numbers look just fine to me in fact I think we have 10 more available
