My guess is grey shirt?

So, where did the grey shirt name come from?

Does anyone have any info on this guy. None of the recruiting services that I review (Rivals, Lemming, and Super Prep) have a mention of this game. Texas Football justs lists his name as an additional player, but does not give his physical stats, which leads me to believe that he was not a top prospect at the beginning of the year. What did he show this year to get Bennett's attention? I'm glad he picked up a kid from Carter and wonder if he has a top rated brother (like the Burleys) coming out in the next couple of years, which is driving this scholarship?

the only thing I know is that he listed in the official All-District team as 5-11, 253 First Team All-District.

Of course, Brandon Kennedy was the same size and he turned out to be a real player. Too bad it his talent had to be wasted at North Texas and not SMU!

I think our coaches know how big our players are, let's at least give them credit for that.

And, to be fair, they could have gotten those heights and weights from some preseason roster, right? (If the coach doesn't answer the phone, or something ....) I talked to Mickey Dollens last night, and he said that for most of the season, several media reports had him at 6-1, 230 .... which is what he meadured in at during a camp last spring. He didn't come out and say he thought that erroneous report cost him in recruiting, but when I asked him about it, he sort of sighed and said "you, too?" For what it's worth, he was measured and weighed in about 10 days ago, at 6-3.5, 260.

Maybe DeGroat has grown since that report? We'll see.

I didn't think that they were allowed to grow without getting the ok from rivals or stallion.

Exactly, our coaches are going to start asking stallion for his evaluation prior to offering, being the expert he is.

can we get off this "magic beans" and "inflated stats" talk? Sufice it to say that a lot of guys grow their senior year of H.S. I'm pretty much a runt at 5-11, 170 but I do remember growing an inch and putting on 20 lbs my senior year of H.S. I'm sure a lot of you were still growing at age 17-18

I say if we want 'em to appear bigger on the roster, weigh 'em and measure 'em in full uniform. After all, that's the REAL height and weight they are playing at.
