right now every single CUSA East recruiting class has more total points on Rivals than every single CUSA West recruiting class-and generally its not even close.
USM 262
UAB 238
ECU 188
Marshall 182
UCF 133
Memphis 105
Rice 81
UTEP 70
UH 65
Tulsa 65
Tulane 60
SMU 49(missing 3 low rated recruits).

Just curious: does that point total include Fleps and the three JUCOs?

they don't count direct transfers from Division 1 schools like Felps but do count JC transfers

Oh my god. I can't believe our rating is that low. I thought we were on our way back to national prominence.
Hopefully some of our class are sleepers! Rivals has been wrong before...

Know need to worry. SMU is only eighteen teams behind RICE who did not even have a coach until a few weeks ago.SMU Rivals rank today # 97, RICE #79. Hey we all know that Benett got a contract extention because he is such a good recruiter ! I guess the AD knows Coach has a whole bunch of highly recruited prospects who will sign with SMU on Tuesday as we jump from #97 to the top 25 in the Nation !
What do you think ???

Stallion,
Isn’t a more honest gauge average points per commit?
Based on that criteria
1. UAB 2.54
2. So Miss 2.35
3. UCF 2.21
4. Memphis 2.20
5. SMU 2.15
6. ECU 2.14
7. UTEP 2.13
8. Houston 2.05
8. Tulsa 2.05
10. Marshall 2.03
11. Tulane 1.90
12. Rice 1.42
Either way, I do not believe a team comprised of the quality of this class will win championships or go bowling…only caveat being our opponents are so weak we may back our way into a bowl.
I have to tell you I am really fed-up with our FB/BB programs. Neither has competed for a conference title in over 10 years.

I believe the fairest way for a small class is to do a composite of both rankings which would place us about 85-87 or so. But Bennett says that he thought we would sign 20 or so-we know 3 players who are going to raise our total points a little and if we sign more to be make it 20 a little more. The same recruits will lower the stars average from 78 or where ever we are now. The more we sign the closer both scores will merge toward that 85-87 number. The stars average scores will change too as many of the players signed in recent days(see especially Rice, Tulane, Marshall and Memphis- aren't rated yet by Rivals-all of SMU's listed recruits are rated. As I've said I think all CUSA West teams tied for last-wouldn't put any particularly above the rest. And I don't think any CUSA West Teams did particularly well. Check out the discrepancy between the Total Points between East and West schools-no West school is even close to any East school and that ain't going to change. Remember one thing there are extra points you get from getting players who rank at their positions and other deviations so a straights Stars Average is not the same as the average between Total Points and No. of Recruits.
