Re: Kelvin Thompson ?? [re: 22 HORN]

Kevin lives with his aunt and takes all of his calls which makes it difficult to get hold of him.I know of 3 div 1 schools which were interested in him however he held off too long with the hope of a call from the horns.I guess Texas did not feel the need for him for what ever reason. He will land some some were because he has the ability to play at a div.1 school .He rushed for330 yards against Aledo and would have had 300 yards against Stephenville if 1 run would not have been called back due to an unnessary holding call

Based on all the stories out there about what schools will do to land a recruit, it's hard to believe that Aunt Phone Blocker is a major deterrent. If he's as good as everyone says, I'd think coaches would be lined up outside his door all the time. There's got to be more to the story.

I agree. With all the stories tales about how persistent coaches are, there has to be more to it. What that is, I don't know.

well it would not appear to be academics-because He was named to Texas State All-Academic Team. I think in this case he really may have been holding out for a better offer although I don't think UT has really been a possibility for awhile. I saw a quote from his coach which gave no indication of some special reason-other than he was holding out for a better offer. Now its possible he took his SAT/ACT real late or he got a uncharacteristic bad grade in a required core class-these things do happen sometimes to even excellent students.
