2007 QB Recruit C J WilliamsAccording to Rivals, he lives in Aurora, Colorado and has been a 2 years starter. Williams is considered one of Colorado's top QB prospects. He is 6-3, 170 lbs., runs a 4.9 forty, and has a 3.4 GPA. Williams threw for 1,683 yards and 15 TDs as a junior and was honorable mention all-state. (He plans to work on his foot speed this year.) He likes SMU, CSU, Wyoming, Arizona, and North Texas. He has attended the Elite 11 tryout camp at SMU last summer and has high interest in the ponies. His sister lives 20 minutes from the campus. The indications are that SMU is the only school that he would immediately commit to.

Williams...Sounds promising I bet his speed moves to a 4.6-4.7, we should offer him a good commit early is important, he can help spark the class and he can help sign others.
please stop worrying about whether a guy runs a 4.4 or 4.9 he is a qb.. vicks and youngs come few and very far between.. sounds like he has good coaching and good fundamentals and you know he will grow.. he has too his 6-3 170.. again Brad Smith the qb at Mizzou.. pinkel recruited him at toledo b4 he went to mizzou and smith was a 6-2 180 lb sr in high school..
now he is a 6-4-225 qb who is one of three qb's to ever rush for over 1000 yds and throw for over 2000 in a season.. i believe he did it twice.. others Woody Dantzler (former cowboy & ???)
I completely agree TP. If you are a good pocket passer you do not need to have a fast 40 time. I want a guy with good feet and pocket presence if he is a big solid passer like this guy seems to be. Now when you are a 6 ft QB who is erratic with passing accuracy, ya you better be fast. But a 6'3 polished passer would be a GREAT pickup.
From a recent Rivals article on his camp at A&M:
"There were some big name quarterbacks out there but CJ did well," said his father and Cherokee Trail assistant coach Chuck Williams. "He showed well in the accuracy and individual drills and when they broke them into groups, he went with the second group." Williams went out to Texas early to take an unofficial visit to SMU. "They showed him the whole campus," Coach Williams explained. "They said he was one of the top four quarterbacks that they are recruiting, so it was a good weekend. We are really high on SMU. His sister only lives 20 minutes away from the campus." "He is going down there (SMU) for their Senior Day camp on July 22nd," he added. "If he has a good camp, SMU has said there is a good possibility they could offer then."
Sounds like the kid has potential. I was 6'3" 180 when I came to college and was 200lbs by Christmas - without a football workout plan.
I kind of like this kid on paper better than [deleted], don't ask me why. Colorado is a good football state too.
it also helps that we might not have to convince this kid of anything. it seems like he already is leaning towards us.
Sir, shooting-star, sir.
