What's a good time in the 100 meters for a guy like McCann, who's supposed to be freaky fast? I heard Saturday (not from him, but he was at the Red/Blue game) that he recently ran a 10.6. Sounds pretty fast to me, especially when you consider the fact that he's still just a few months removed from big-time ankle/leg surgery.

according to Dye Stat Track it wouldn't be a Top 10 performance this year in Texas. The top time in Texas this year is 10.41-at least 9 other runners have run 10.54 or better.

So four months after surgery, he came within .19 of the fastest guy in Texas? I'd say that's cookin'.

Get better, Bryan -- we need you at 100 percent by August!

10.6 =Same as Demetrius Bell, son of Kevin Shephard, who Stallion was gushing about in another thread.

Of course Bell is not a SMU commitment so his 10.6 is more impressive, McCann's 10.6 is sub par.

McCann is gonna be big time. I have been saying this for a while, that just adds to what I expect. That is flat out speed a 10.6, wow! I can't believe some people are bringing that down. Just wait until McCann and Burley hit the field together next year, they will do some damage. That is for sure!

He asked a question_ I answered with the only info I had of the top performances since they only did the Top 10 in Texas. The correct response is "Thanks Stallion". I made absolutely no negative comment other than to say he was not in the Top 10 List. I post just about all relevant info I can find on all recruits-whether its what you want to hear or not. If somebodies got a better list then post it. I'd estimate McCann's time would be in the Top 20-25 in Texas. If he runs faster I'll be the first to report just as if Rhofdes ever finishes in the Top 3 of a district high school meet that that reported 4.38 might be accurate. So far he hasn't placed in the meets I've seen.

I am just asing why the kansas kid's (Bell), time was so impressive and McCann isn't? As an aside how many of the Top 10 in Texas will be playing football next year?

10.6 has got to be in the Top 5 in OK in 06. What is the record for the HS 100M up there?

What was Roy Martin's time coming out of HS in the 80s? I think that he set a national record.

even to this day 21 years later Roy Martin is the National Record holder in the 200M with a time of 20.13. He has the 3rd fastest 100M in Texas history with a time of 10.13.

In other words, Roy is eating as sandwich watching McCann finish.

Wonder how fast McCann would have gone had he not gotten hurt.
Hopefully he'll get all the way back to his original speed.

Whatever happened to Roy? Who has the Texas 100M record now? Also what is the High School National Record for the 100M. I will bet that the record is held by somone from either TX or CA.

10.13! That is moving. 1985 was pre steroids. Did Roy sit any records at SMU?

Further to the above. SMU had some really great men's track teams in the past. Is there a site where we can see the recorrds for all events? SMU probably lost all of the records when the program was terminated.

I'm not aware of any but for Texas and National High School Track may I recommend the "Dye Stat" site. Just search using those words and you'll get there. They cover all things Track and Field both nationally and locally including State Rankings in all events.
