TCU already has 2 commitments for the 2007 season, Jamarion Cavness (5'9" 170 lb RB) from Missouri City, and Chez Thomas a 5-11 195 4.5 DB from Arlington. Thomas already had offers from Indiana and Iowa State, those are BCS schools folks and hes from the DFW metroplex. Our model once again keeps us from getting these players.

And they had those types of players when we took the skillet away.

SMU/TCU Comparison In Last 10 Years:

BOWLS: TCU 8 SMU 0
National Top 10 Appearances: TCU 2 SMU 0
Championships Since DP: TCU has won or shared titles in the SWC, WAC, CUSA and MWC SMU 0;

I don't know what kind of claim to superiority of are seeking based on recruiting but obviously you like to make a fool of yourself.

Stallion, which year did TCU win or share a title in the SWC since the death penalty was delivered in 1987?

Just wondering.

How dare you question the almighty stallion's speeches!

Wasn't it the year that Tech, TCU, and I think one other school tied for the SWC championship only because TAMU wasn't eligible despite the fact they had the best conference record?

Texas, TCU, Rice, Baylor and Texas Tech were in a 5 way tie in 1994.

Cavness has 4.32 speed.

Two early commits is exciting, but really doesn't mean a whole lot in the long run. What matters is getting more and more of the players you really want and I think that is something that is definitely happening at TCU. The overall talent level is increasing and the team that was #9 in the country in 2005 will field a better overall team in 2006. The schedule does get tougher and not saying TCU will fiinish higher than #9, but Patterson is really doing a great job. look for possibly 2 or 3 more for TCU this coming week.

Wish we had SMU on the schedule sooner, but we will play again.

Bennett will get his share of his guys, but it will get tougher & tougher. You need a good year and all things are pointing that way if the QB situation works out. Signing Martin in the previous class was huge and burley in this class is another. You just need more of those types.

I'm looking forward to when we are at the point that every game with TCU is a close hard fought game and it is a toss-up on who wins. We need to get the series back to a good competitive rivalry like it should be.

I would rather get back to beating them handily and regularly like the good old days.

"Our model once again keeps us from getting these players."

Okay, they're beating us at recruiting. We suck. We'll never win a game against them again because they've got two junior oral commitments. Thank you and Stallion for reminding us. But I'm still wondering what evidence shows that it was our current "model," as opposed to something else, that prevented us from getting these guys. I guess every recruiting battle lost from here to eternity is attributable to our current "model."

Yeah, well so would I...but one step at a time.

These guys will de-commit when other schools decide they want them.
