He should never have to run 40 yards, anyway. If he's got a quick burst after the snap, and if he is really strong and has ability, I'm not too concerned about the 40 time.
What do you suppose Ted Washington and Grady Jackson run?

True...apparently he ran a 4.97 shuttle but did all this at 325. He has slimmed to a svelt 310 now and is hoping to be at 290 by the fall for his football season.

From what I hear, he has met with a coach and loves SMU. He is working on getting his weight down and showing a stellar senior year.
Let's get more guys that WANT to come make SMU strong.

Completely agree BUS...have to love the guys that want to be mustangs and help turn this program around.
Brallier is down to about 308 now and working hard for the upcoming Oregon Nike Camp. Lets see his times there, but definitely this kid is someone to watch out for. During his meeting in April with Coach Sawyer suggested that Brallier get down around 285 and that is the target for before his senior year.
Quick story I heard, when Brallier visited UL-Lafayette he was talking with their strength coach. Coach mentioned that their squat record was 640lbs. Brallier is already squatting 620 and thinks he could have broken the UL record right there.
Nothing I love more than a big old boy in the middle with legs like tree trunks clogging the middle on defense.

Isn't this kid from California? He's showing interest in schools in Texas, Louisiana, etc -- what's his connection to this part of the country?

His family is actually from Oklahoma/Kansas but consider north Texas their "home". Family obligations forced the move out to California but wants to return here for school.

Direct from The Beast's Dad...(re: Charles Brallier ). At the Eugene Nike Camp, he completely dominated the OL on one-on-ones...went three for three. It was a complete mismatch. The Beast posted a 4.84 shuttle, did 28 reps (they were making the guys come to a complete stop and lock out on each rep...on 06/06, for another test, he did 35...weren't making the guys come to a complete stop). His 40 and vertical scores were unchanged. If Rivals doesn't post any video of the one-on-ones in the next week, I've got some clips I'll put up on a website and post the link. You'll get to see The Beast in action.

Oh man, don't wait!
Please post asap for many reasons.
1) To cheap to pay for Rivals.
2) Summer time is so slow on this board
3) Would love to see a potential pony put someone in their place!

Great to hear that the Nike Camp went well for Charles. Would love to see the clips of him in action since Rivals hasn't posted anything just yet.

His Dad reads this board and confirmed his VERY strong interest in SMU to me in an email. I hope that we got off the pot and offer him soon! He sounds like a great addition to the team not just from his physical ability, but his enthusiasm for the school!

The travelingman is the papa and he is very interested, as his son is, about SMU. I would like to see the video of the nike camp one on one drills. I know that he has met the coaches and I hope that he has already applied to come to SMU.
Do it like the tennis team. Come as a student and then win the conference title. Oh, this guy can play football
( Reference to tennis player from Africa )
Back to the point. This family wants to be at SMU. I hope that he earns a scholarship.

I've been reading the debate over whether strength and weight are THAT important at the HS level, here's what a 6-3 320lb 16 year old DT/NT, who benches 365, squats 620, and runs a 4.84 shuttle can do to a "Nike Camp" level:
1) 268lb OL
2) 280lb OL
3) 258lb OL
...the shortest is 6-2 and all three bench 23+ reps.

God Bless SMU and God Bless America.
Thanks for letting me speak my piece.
