I thought there was a post already on this kid but can't find it.
Anyways, Chasen took home the skills award form Nebraska Camp. Right now he lists 5 medium interest schools: Nebraska, New Mexico (Offer), SMU (Offer), UTEP (Offer) & Washington.

Those are some legit schools showing interest. Mike Price, for one, has shown he can evaluate talent a little, huh?

If Nebraska offers, it sounds like he will accept.

Add UTEP to the list of schools putting it to Phil Bennett in recruiting. UTEP is now 4-0 in kids both schools offered.

Gee, I think we should just give up football as stallion has concluded yet another team has outrecruited us.

Question is:
Who is putting it to you, Stallion?
There are a lot of quality football players in Texas and do you really think Coach Bennett or Coach Price, for that matter, lose any sleep over any of these recruits. I think not!
Coach Bennett and staff have proven to be very good talent evaluatiors. SMU football is getting better and better each year.

So should the coaches at every school that offered Josh LeRibeus just quit their jobs since Coach Bennett is "putting it to them"?
We'll be just fine. Quit bashing our coaches for the players they don't get. Try applauding them for the players they do get. We're not going to get every player we want. Neither is Saint Mack -- it happens.
We're off to a very good start in recruiting, and Coach Bennett and his staff have shown they can evaluate talent. Are we going to sign a class full of high school All-Americas? Not yet. But Coach Bennett and his staff are bringing in the best players we've had in nearly two decades. Do we still have further to go in terms of the level of talent in our recruits? Sure. So does Guy Morriss (who contrary to some reports here does not walk on water), and so does Mike Leach, and so does Coach Fran, and so does Pete Carroll and Bob Stoops and Les Miles and Urban Meyer and Charlie Weis and Saint Mack. EVERYONE wants better players.
Our coaches are recruiting better players and they are playing better. Nobody is saying you need to be a cheerleader, but if you're going to claim to be an SMU fan, act like one.
