Postby Ponymon » Tue Sep 12, 2006 6:46 am

DMN reports this morning that 5-10 guard/forward Haley Day of Rockwall committed to SMU. :D No stats or info on her were reported. Anyone have any info?

She was All-State last year, and had a very strong summer. She was the leading scorer for a Rockwall team that lost to Plano in the State Finals, 16 points and 8 rebounds per game. Rockwall's big guns from last year were all juniors and will be back, so they will probably start the year ranked #1 in the state.

Day is more of a "scorer" than a "shooter". She goes hard to the basket, score alot of points in the paint. She has a decent shot, but seems to prefer to drive the lane.

Thanks for the review, X. I like what you say about her driving to the basket. We definitely need more of that.

Do you really go to girls high school basketball games? Do you have family playing in the area or something? I'm all about seeing future Ponies play, and all, but .... wow.

Ikus-
At Christmas time I watch the big high school tournaments, both the boys and girls. In the summer if there is a large AAU or BCI girls event locally (we've had the AAU national championships several times) I try to make it to those, as well. I've seen the Plano-Rockwall state championship game on tape, and I believe the video is available on the internet. Once in awhile someone will suggest that I go to a game and look at a particular player, and I usually do if I can.

No family playing in the area. Actually, no real family at all.

World Stang- the title of the thread clearly states what the subject matter is. If its such a problem for you, why did you open the thread to begin with?
