SMU Gets Prep School CommitPG Michael Walker 6-0 from South Kent Conneticutt formerly from Iowa City West High. Reported by Scout-I don't subscribe so there may be more info availiable. Rated 1 star by Scout. Not in the Rivals Database.
Mike WalkerPoint GuardIowa City, Iowa*2007 (Captain)6’1â€Plays the game with his “head,†just like a son of a basketball coach should. Equipped with a strong body and excellent ball handling abilities. Tough and aggressive defensive player. Mike is a young senior who has already decided to return to South Kent for a post-graduate year. He will be a very highly recruited point guard in the Class of 2007.

Alright...I am excited about Walker! Sounds like he has true PG skills...This is what we need, notice how we are picking up position players. We just created our future backcourt in Walker and Harp. Congratulations Doherty, keep up the good work!
GO PONIES!!!
Two things we've learned on this thread
1. First the kid came from Big 10 country where the best basketball is played (Couldn't resist). As an aside, Iowa City is home to the University of Iowa. Wondering if Alford was really serious. 2. But there's breaking news: THE AUTHOR DOES NOT HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION TO SCOUT!!! What is the matter with him? Unbelievable.
You're not going to whip us all with some ACC boloney are you since you come from ACC country? And now with Doherty, you might be impossible to deal with. Count on the numerous insufferable postings coming from you. ![]()
Hey PonyPride,
Please, please ban him for a day. It will KILL him. ![]() "Moderation in all things, and especially in Absoluts [vodka]." The Benediction, Doc Breeden, circa 1992
Okay Big Ten, I'll give it a shot.
In the last five years the SEC has 1 championship, the Big East 2 and the ACC 2. In the last ten years, SEC -2, ACC 3, BE 3, Big Ten 1, Pact 10 -1. In the last 20 years SEC 3, ACC 6, BE 3, Big Ten 3, Pac Ten 2, SWC 1, WAC 1, Big XII -1. So it appears for the last five years, ten years and 20 years the ACC has been very dominant compared to the Big Ten if you look at championships. I would add that the Big East will probably be on the radar for the next ten years with their expansion additions to go with an already strong conference. The Big Ten has Chicago and Detroit recruiting markets, no doubt, but now has to share Chicago with the BE.
