DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's golf team has signed Tia Gannon and Paige Martin to National Letters of Intent, head coach Todd Selders announced today.
Gannon, a native of Hilton Head Island, S.C., attends Heritage Academy, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the Honor Roll. On the links, she was co-medalist at the USGA Girls' Junior Qualifier and played in the 2005 McDonald's Betsy Rawls Girls Championships and the 2003 Rolex Tournament of Champions.
Martin, an Ardmore, Okla., native, has been the Oklahoma High School State runner-up in each of the last two years playing for Plainview High School. She has guided Plainview to district and regional championships and is a Blue Ribbon Scholar.
"Tia and Paige are going to be great additions to the program," said Selders. "Their travel schedules and tournament experience will help them make the transition to the collegiate level. We are really excited to have them as Mustangs for next fall as well as the next four years."
