enjoyed visit to Auburm but never confirmed an offer. Right now offers appear to be SMU and St. Joseph. Auburn, Virgina and NCSU also chasing him. His Coach believes they will continue to do so. BTW Katuka averaged 11 ppg and 6 rpg last year.

I would imagine Doherty saves a scholarship for him being that he is one of the more talented players remaining unsigned and one of the few of that group considering SMU to my knowledge. That is unless we have some other good prospects on our radar that I am unaware of, which is entirely possible.

Smart move on the kid's part. Lots of programs from the top conferences get desperate for centers/power forwards come Spring. If he has a good season, he will be in extremely high demand. Downside: Does not likely help SMU's chances though given the competition will probably increase

as long as he doesn't get hurt he could have 50 schools chasing him this spring even if he performs just like last year. You are right-kids drop-out-leave school early and 95% of the Top 100 already committed in Fall. I'm amazed at some of the stiffs great schools go after in the spring. Of course, he's gambling with an injury.

I wonder if he went to any of the SMU games in Tallahassee.

Doubtful. Montverde is closer to Orlando, thats 250 miles away, and the games were all on school nights. He's in a boarding school, he may not be able to just come and go.

If he didn't commit in the fall, chances are that he is not very interested in the schools that offered in the fall. Translation, if he gets other offers next spring, he's likely gone.
