This is one of those diamonds in the rough the coaching staff talks about.

6-2, 215 -- Played defensive end for the last two years. Registered about 7-8 sacks each season. Speed isn't bad at 4.6,

Undersized, obviously, but Sawyer has known about him since last May and was actually out at Flower Mound when it was announced Bennett was coming back.

He has a great motor with a host of strong moves, and could be used at either DE if he can bulk up to about 250 or keep his build and go to LB. He is a converted TE.

Houston, Tulsa, Kansas and UL-Monroe have talked to him. Houston came into the picture recently.

Very nice kid. Just keep an eye on this to see if the staff is really serious. If it does, I wouldn't think anything will happen until January.

Adding 35 pounds (if his 215 doesn't really mean 205) and not losing any speed is tough. If anything, I would guess he'd get recruited at LB. "Very nice kid"? That's a strike against! Defensive players should be nasty SOBs who drool a lot. (OK, I'm kidding .... sort of.)
