I thought he was a pure shooter, but some of those stories make it sound like he's pretty athletic, too.

Harp had 24 pts last night in a 53-42 loss to Abilene Wylie.

Wylie’s coach threw out high praise about Harp in the Abilene paper.....

But a late 13-point advantage all but disappeared in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter when Ryan Harp, who finished with a game-high 24 points, nailed a three to make it a 40-38 Wylie lead with 3:30 to play.

''Ryan is a phenomenal player,'' Wylie coach Russell Perkins said. ''I've known Ryan for a long time, and he's very special. He's the best player I've ever coached against.''

It looks like he routinely scores more than half of his team's points.

can he create his own shot though?

Not sure. Everything I’ve read about him suggests he has the athleticism and quickness to create his own shot. He supposedly has a very good outside shot as well. If Cooper makes the playoffs they will probably be matched up with a DFW school in the opening round. If so, I plan to catch it.

a clip from the link:

"Senior Ryan Harp - cold through the first three quarters - caught fire over the final eight minutes. He scored 15 of his game-high 29 points in that frame, spearheading the rally.

Behind by 10 to start the fourth, Cooper made it a 5-point game on a Harp 3-pointer with 4:30 to play. A Harp steal and dunk make it 43-40, and a after a Lee charge the SMU signee hit a long two in traffic to make it 43-42."

Ryan Harp 8-13 29
