This is a bleak sign of things to come for Bennett.

Oh please. Ganaway's probably a pretty good player -- his stats sure suggest it. But losing a kid to a great recruiter at a school going to its first bowl game since the start of time is not a cause to start practicing noose knots. Fill holes with other players (the JUCO defensive tackle sounds impressive), and we'll be fine. Players switch commitments. We've snagged some before. It happens. Worry about the guys we do get.

just kidding again, man I can't believe I am still bitter, you would think after 12 years i would be numb by now.
I need to watch the ponies beat aTm tomorrow night so I can get in a better mood........It should be a great game since aTm is ranked this year.....

So much for Bennett as a charismatic guy and a great recruiter, why are we keeping him around? I'm not kidding.
Does everyone agree he was our best recruit?

I like Leberius (spelling) because of the offers I remember him having. I think Boston College and a couple other pretty darn good prgrams offered the kid- which is exciting to me. But I would say Ganaway is the more exciting, eye popping recruit because offensive players generally are and his numbers are so large being a 2A player that you ccan't help but get excited about him.
But yes, I am pretty upset we have lost out on this kid. Rice continues to hand our as* to us even after the debacle here in H-town over Thanksgiving weekend.
Remember though guys. This won't last for Graham. Its not possible for a coach to come in and turn things around in less than a minimum of 6 years.

Yeah, god forbid he gets something out of the talent he's given, or wins seven games with one of the weakest OOC schedules in the programs history...I expected better from Orsini.

Any examples of players who switched their commitments from other schools to SMU? (SFA, SHSU, Texas College and ETBU commits notwithstanding)?

'Any examples of players who switched their commitments from other schools to SMU?'
Seems to me that we have on one or two occasions gotten someone to switch, though I can't recall the specifics. We have won some and lost some on head to head recruiting, but it disappoints me that a kid accepts an early offer and commits, then doesn't honor his commitment. Would Rice even have known about him had we not made the offer and gotten him on the boards?
