6-4, 200 rated 5.4. Apparently has come out of nowhere to be a top recruit. Rivals said he has been in and out of the program while focusing on aselect Basketball-I guess he means AAU. SMU, UH and Kansas St. have offered. Kansas and LSU are interested. He has had such a good year he is a finalist in the Houston Touchdown Clubs Player of the Year. He has scored a TD in everyone of LaMarque's playoff games. It doesn't mention his speed or other stats.

A possible Chase/Pellerin replacement?

There's an awful lot of speed down in that part of the state. If the size is accurate, and the production is there to create the attention from the Touchdown Club -- go get him, coaches!

Here's another kid whose offers fell off the table late. Made a soft commitment to Stephen F. Austin today. Baylor and UAB are still possibilities.

I posted about this kid in the Ray thread. Any chance we are still in the game for him? Sure seems like a player we would love to have. Kid must have grade issues to end up at SFA with the looks he was getting. I was most worried about him following Ray to UH but maybe he just isn't as talented as people once thought if he committed to SFA.

Well he had a TD in every game in LaMarque State Championship playoff run. He's a BB player turned Football player. Had a great year and was nominated by the Houston TD Club as player of the year. Sounds like the kid is getting better. Bryan Irwn their former Coach (who just took the Marcus job) said a couple of weeks ago that both Ray and Florence were eligible but maybe its a transcript isue more than a grade issue. Remember SMU still has an extra two core course requirement. LaMarque has a history of academic issues.

apparently that SFA commit was only a fall back commit after all. He said he was hoping to hear from Tulsa and UH and both came through. Tulsa with a late visit, but it was Houston that got his commitment. Kid had 56 catches for 1,085 yards in catches 15 TDs including a TD in every playoff game in route to 4A State Championship-in his FIRST real season of varsity football. It seemed ridiculous someone wouldn't take a chance-and academics were reportedly in order.
