committed to Rice over SMU, Tulane & Purdue, per the DMN. And the deluge continues!

How many recruits do you figure Doh will ever lose to Rice? North Texas? TCU? Come to think of it, he's 1-0 vs. Louisville and OU.

Ughh, this is getting worse. I'm passed angry and have gone into acceptance. We didn't want him anyway, right?

Edit: At least we are losing to an institution that is Ivy League Caliber. It's strangely acceptable and infuriating at the same time.

Settle down. It's a great school, and they had a terrific year. You can't blame kids for being interested. Let's get a strong class ourselves and not worry about who ends up elsewhere.

Rivals shows we've offered 4 LBs if you include this athlete. This kid is a definite take. Must be a Phil Bennet talking point at the [deleted] last nite. SMU has been going after all kinds of LBs. You don't sign a large class w/o signing LBs. Noticed they are just now getting involved with a new LB Anthony Bell from Mansfield who has been offered by Houston and Indiana

Just go look at the number of LBs on the roster. Most of which are underclassmen. We have a ton. I am not saying that we won't take ANY, but they are low on the priority list and we won't take many.

Williams on Rivals says he got a verbal offer, not a written one from SMU, and never had an official visit set up, although he came to see the school once. He also claims a verbal offer from Ark, which I don't know if I believe either. He also says we recruited him as a RB, not a LB.

Stallion, you and I have followed this long enough that we both know that just as often as schools say a player was 6'1, when they are 5'11, and just as often as a school says that a player was "offered" by such and such even though it isn't reported anywhere, that players also like to talk about verbal offers. Take everything with a grain of salt unless it is on paper.

Most of the other guys we have shown interest in are rover types that can play saftey or LB. I think any LB we take will be one of those guys, because we do need saftey help on our roster, and if there is a lack of depth on the roster it is at the rover LB position.

I think the Mustangs will only take one linebacker in this class, with the # of underclassment you already have.

You also probably have to recruit more than you need because you aren't going to get every one of the ones you are recruiting...probably. :?
