Here's what Minnesota can offer:
Major conference
Bowl experience
And the program produces NFL caliber linemen. It has had a couple of award winners in the past couple of years.

Here's what hurts Minnesota:
Commuter school
Instability in the athletic department with dipstick of an AD
Playing in the metrodome hurts the game-day experience
School has not won the Big 10 championship since 1967

Hey, I want him to come here as badly as anybody esle. But the Gophers are the most attractive on this list. We're going to have to work to get him away from the Maroon & Gold.

In reference to BUS' comment: Cox is great. But Minnesota's Carlson School of Business is no slouch either. Has a very good reputation.

Interesting. I heard last week that he already had told the coaches at Minnesota, Florida State and another school (I forget where) "thanks but no thanks" and had told them it was either Washington State, us or Marshall.
Come on, Serge! SMU is your best choice!

Florida St. has not been mentioned in any Rivals or Scout reports that I've read and I've read them all. Minnesota was tangentally mentioned by Rivals last week as a school that was ramping up their interest.

HE WILL FREEZE UP THERE.

Think about that. It is cold as [deleted] up there.

Right, and word has it he's very much a warm-weather guy.
For what it's worth, I also heard the Florida State talk, including speculation that the 'Noles might be getting ready to offer. Whether there was fire behind that smoke or not, I'm glad they're out of the running.
SMU and SMU only!

Here's the weather for Minneapolis this weekend:

Cloudy skies with a few snow showers later in the day. High 37F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 30

Have fun Serge!

Probably the best way to land this guy is to have Bamba recruit him!

I thought someone wrote that Serge is at Marshall this weekend, not Minnesota. Am I mixed up?

I checked Minnesota's recruiting list at 8 p.m. and Serge is not on it -- yet.
Let's hope it stays that way.

But the Gophers are having a pretty decent recruiting class. They already have 21 commitments.
