SMU isn't even listed on the 'schools in the running' list.

Yet another LB.

My question is whether or not he ever was an SMU commit. Other than the article in the FWST I have never seen any other group or list that has shown him as committed to SMU. Has anyone else?

He hasn't made Rivals commitment list, but then again Goneaway hasn't been removed! The Rivals list only shows seven recruits: LeRibeus, Goneaway, Kennedy, Robinson, Logan Turner, Kelly Turner, and Terrance Wilkerson. I believe I read that we have 10 recruits. Does this include basketball recruits or more Turners? :? Whatever, it appears that Rivals is rivaling Scout on consistency this year! Anyway, does anyone have any other names to add or subtract from this list?

that's more an indictment of who SMU is or rather is not recruiting rather than an indictment on Rivals because I can assure you that Rivals is very through with the Top 250 Texas players or so.

But it is equally an indictment on the person who is covering the SMU recruiting beat for rivals. May not be putting much work into it letting information slide -- like Herron.

Remember, the DMN cannot report oral commitments unless they talk to the kid. FWST can quote the coach or family member. It may be the DMN could be having trouble tracking down Herron.

Heard a rumor that Herron changed his mind and cancelled the trip to Tulsa. Hopefully, if that's true, that means he has reaffirmed in his mind that SMU is the right place for him to be!

Yup. Cancelled his trip to Tulsa, solidly with SMU.

Still can not find him listed anywhere but on this site. Hopefully that is good enough.

a good business school and a chance to play...sounds like he's found a great fit. Looks like a prototype Phil Bennett OLB to me
