Rock Dennis 5-10, 180 from Garden City Community College in Kansas. Was Honorable Mention All Jayhawk Conference-essentially third team. No mention of other offers. Rated 5.3. In comparing his two JUCO corner his Coach said Rock was more of a technician and a better zone guy than their kid we didn't get who was the real athlete type that can run. But Rivals has unconfirmed 4.4 time on Dennis.

I found two Interception returns of 57 and 35. Somewhere the other day when I was checking on this guy I think I saw he had something like 49 tackles-can't find it now though. Originally from Leavenworth Kansas where he played RB. Actually Honorable Mention 6A All State as an End so he may have been a jack of all trades because I saw some nice running games on relatively few carries.

JUCO corner that is third team all conference? Doesn't exactly sound like the impact JUCO signings we were hoping for.

Just curious, if you never saw him play, how do you know he fills a need?

Based on this post and the previous, do you think SMU got a player that can be used? And is there any hint of why we missed out on the other fellow?

From what I can find:
- Has 3 years to play 2
- From the rivals story about him: "Garden City C.C. coach J.J. Eckert calls cornerback Rock Dennis one of his top defenders, despite having a roster littered with four and three-star prospects.... "So I'm going to sign on Wednesday and then head down there after the first of the year ready to make an impact." .... said he was also recruited heavily by Utah State and Western Kentucky.... Eckert thinks SMU is getting a steal. "He's a real technician," Eckert said. "He's a really good zone coverage corner."
- 2 interceptions this year, 92 return yards, including 1 touchdown
- 49 tackles, 1 forced fumble
Once a Mustang, ALWAYS a Mustang!

this has been quite the exciting day beating out Western Kentucky, Utah St., Louisiana-Marilyn Monroe, Northwestern St(Louisiana) and Texas State Monument all in one day.

all we gotta do is get 'em on campus, my friend! Seriously, it is nice that we can sit in the same living room with the likes of the Hilltoppers, the Utags, the Warhawks, the Demons and Bobkitties and come out with a signature.
